Oscars Going Big This Time With Heavyweight Contenders: 85th Academy Awards Complete Nominations Announced
Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone Host the Oscars
The most prestigious awards of all, The 85th Academy Awards Nominations were announced by this year’s Oscar hosts Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone last thursday, the 10th of January.
The nominations for various categories were announced at Beverly Hills, CA at a 5:38 a.m PT Live News conference which was attended by more than 400 international media representatives.
The voting procedure for the nominees goes this way – Members from respective categories vote to determine nominees from the same category. For example-actors vote for actors, script-writers vote for script-writers. Nominees are selected by vote of multi-branch screening committee in Animated Feature Film and Foreign Language Film categories. All voting members enjoy the privilege to select the best picture nominees.
The felicitation ceremony for the 85th Oscars is scheduled to be held on Feb. 24, 2013 at the Dolby Theater at Hollywood & Highland Center and broadcast live on ABC.
Coming Saturday, January 19th, official screening of all motion pictures with one or more nominations will begin for the members at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theatre. Screenings will also be held at Hollywood, New York, London and the San Francisco Bay Area.
