This year’s inauguration ceremony had a feel of hollywood as Barack Obama inaugurated his second term as the President of The United States of America.

Beyonce and rapper husband Jay-Z led the way with other stars as they were welcomed with a loud cheer when they made a grand entrance at the ceremonial swearing-in at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC to support President Barack Obama at his inauguration on Monday.

The ceremony was started with musical performance by James Taylor, strumming his guitar and singing “America the Beautiful.” Kelly Clarkson followed with a different arrangement of “My Country Tis of Thee.” UK viewers may have found the song familiar as it is set to the British national anthem ‘God Save The Queen.’ “We came up with a really cool arrangement for it and I really love the lyrics,” Kelly said.

Then 31 year old Beyonce was introduced and the crowd again roared its approval. She heated up Washington with performance of “Star-Spangled Banner.”

“ Vice President Biden and I are honoured to have these wonderfully talented musical artists perform at the inaugural ceremony.” President Obama said. “Their music is often at the heart of the American story and speaks to folks across the country.”

Beyonce has been a very vocal champion of President Obama and on Monday she was repaid for her support with the ultimate honour of performing at his second inauguration.

Beyonce stepped onto the podium herself to belt out “The Star Spangled Banner.” With huge emeralds glinting on her ears, and her finger, the beauty looked moved as she gave a passionate performance. She had earlier shared snaps of her rehearsals on Instagram.
