The Screen Actors Guild Awards, like each year this year also honoured the best performances in TV and movies on Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Los Angeles. The winners and losers Sunday night are largely those who cemented their Oscar hopes and those who may have to say goodbye.
Daniel Day-Lewis, Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence were among the movie stars nominated at the 19th Annual SAG Awards.
VOGUE cover girl Jennifer Lawrence won Best Leading Actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, while Anne Hathaway took home Best Supporting Actress for Les Misérables.
“This is incredible, thank you so much,” said Lawrence in her acceptance speech. “I want to thank MTV. I earnt my SAG card when I was 14 and I did a promo for My Super Sweet 16.
I remember getting it in the mail and it being the best day of my life because it officially made me a professional actor, which put me in the category with all of you. Now I have this naked statue that means that some of you even voted for me. That is an indescribable feeling.”
